i can now build the distro, but had to install a few additional packages.
i am using fedora 14 based fel 14.
the packages which were installed are:
libuuid-devel
uuid
uuid-devel
uuidd
the package which needed updation is:
libuuid
these were installed/updated using yum, hence all the dependencies were also installed/updated by yum.
